The Gunners pub bosses say the pub is no longer “under threat” after a mysterious licensing meeting at the town hall on Tuesday evening.

The management of the Blackstock Road boozer had feared for its future after the pub was subject of the secretive licensing sub committee meeting.

The agenda for this meeting was redacted by Islington Council and the press was barred from attending, but it is believed the committee considered a premise licence transfer and a new premises supervisor.

Pub landlord, Andy Hoyle, runs the establishment with his wife Una, who didn’t want to give her surname.

Speaking after the meeting, Una told the Gazette: “The pub is not under threat of closure and we are happy about that because it’s what feeds us, our staff and out children.”

The pub is popular with Arsenal fans due to its proximity to the Emirates Stadium.
