Islington Council is living up to its promise to make our borough a fairer place to live, after its Spectrum support service for adults with autism was accredited by the National Autistic Society.
Following the positive inspection, Simon Galczynski, the council’s director of adult social care, said: “Two years ago, we helped to prove our commitment to making Islington a fairer place for residents with complex needs by opening Spectrum.
“This excellent, independent accreditation is well-deserved and a testament to its dedicated and passionate staff, who work so hard to make Spectrum a fantastic place to be.”
Staff and users celebrated at its Highbury New Park home on Friday by dressing in blue-themed fancy dress: blue being the colour formally associated with autism awareness.
