The top brass of two town halls honoured a new scheme aimed at getting people jobs in newly-gentrified King’s Cross.

Cllr Richard Watts, leader of Islington council and Cllr Sarah Hayward, his Camden counterpart, met with Anne Hughes, manager of the new project, dubbed KX Recruit.

Registration is open at the new recruitment centre, in Stable Street, which aims to get people in the area at their dream job with businesses on the King’s Cross regeneration site.

Cllr Watts said: “Helping residents into work is my number one priority. With unemployment levels remaining high, what residents need is a helping hand to take advantage of the jobs on our doorstep.

“Employment initiatives such as KX Recruit provide a gateway to the jobs that can change peoples’ lives.”
