It was all smiles by the canal at a care home’s day of al fresco dining and entertainment.

Service users and staff from the Bridgeside Lodge Care Centre in Wharf Road, Islington, welcomed visitors and everyone basked in the sunshine on Friday as part of the national care home open day. Manager Fatma Makalo said: “We had a wonderful afternoon of fun outside on the terrace, with music, great food and lots of laughs for our staff, residents and guests.

“The sun shining and reflecting on the water made it a wonderful afternoon, with friends and families young and old dropping in to join the celebrations.”
