Emergency services were attacked by yobs as they tackled a massive factory fire.
Stones were thrown at firefighters, police and ambulance officers as they battled to deal with the blaze in Grenville Road, Hornsey Rise.
The missiles came from flats in nearby Ormond Road. Police immediately searched the area but did not find the culprits.
“We were fully stretched dealing with the incident,” one cop told the Gazette. “We are exasperated that this is the way some irresponsible people react when we are trying to help others.”
There was better community spirit from neighbour and EastEnders star Tom Watt – Lofty in the show – who supplied crews with cold drinks.
Police believed the fire was started deliberately. Two men were in the warehouse as the fire broke out. One suffered 50 per cent burns while the other escaped with minor injuries.
