A Highbury pub narrowly missed out on being named north London’s best pub.

The Snooty Fox in Grosvenor Avenue, Highbury, finished runner up in the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) North London Pub of the Year contest.

Catherine Tonry, chairman of CAMRA’s north London branch, said: “The current licensees have only been in since 2010 and it’s been great to see how this pub has developed in such a short period of time. It serves a great range of real ales, including beers from local breweries, reducing the carbon footprint.

“We also liked the fact that it was offering something different, with live music as well as a commitment to educating people about beer.”
