Hairdressers donned bright pink threads to raise awareness and cash for a breast cancer charity this week.

Staff at Barnabys salon in Highbury Park, Highbury, were joined by a group of volunteer cupcake sellers and an acrobatic street dancer for the Breast Cancer Campaign’s Wear It Pink day on Friday.

They collected more than £500 in what was their third year fundraising for the charity, making it their most successful yet – and there is still a mountain of change to be counted.

Stylist and organiser Neil Curtis said: “It was a brilliant day. We wanted to boost morale in the salon and help support the community. Most of our clients are women and a few have been affected with breast cancer and we just wanted to support them and do something good as a team.”
