Hairdressers donned bright pink threads to raise awareness and cash for a breast cancer charity this week.
Staff at Barnabys salon in Highbury Park, Highbury, were joined by a group of volunteer cupcake sellers and an acrobatic street dancer for the Breast Cancer Campaign’s Wear It Pink day on Friday.
They collected more than 500 in what was their third year fundraising for the charity, making it their most successful yet – and there is still a mountain of change to be counted.
Stylist and organiser Neil Curtis said: “It was a brilliant day. We wanted to boost morale in the salon and help support the community. Most of our clients are women and a few have been affected with breast cancer and we just wanted to support them and do something good as a team.”
