It was party time at a Highbury New Park care home at the weekend when the whole community was invited down for a summer bash.

Charity Care UK decided to host open days in its homes across the country and people of all ages came down to eat and drink the day away.

Entertainment came courtesy of The Pearly King, while there were prizes for best decorated cake and best hat.

Lia Smochina, manager at Highbury New Park, said: “Our doors are always open, but Care Home Open Day is a particular highlight each year as it is a brilliant opportunity to showcase our home and celebrate with visitors, residents and colleagues alike.

“This year’s event was a real success, and everyone enjoyed getting involved in the activities and building our links within the community. We hope all our visitors enjoyed themselves as much as we did.”
