Highgate Harriers’ senior men’s A team were ninth out of 82 clubs in the National Six Stage road relay in Sutton Coldfield on Saturday.
Robel Bahelbi produced his best ever relay leg, crossing the line ninth in 17 minutes 34 seconds, and he was followed by Danny Russell (18:22), Robert Wilson (18:33), Chris Rainsford (18:04), Andy Maud (17:36) and Shaun Dixon (17:49).
Highgate’s B side came 45th, with Jon Laybourn clocking 18:28 ahead of his team-mates Terry Fawden (19:11), Ben Noad (19:10), Alex-Machin Paley (20:28), Dominic Smith (19:48) and Pete Chambers, who picked up three places on the final leg despite a foot injury.
In the Under-17 junior men’s road relay over three legs, the Harriers team were 24th out of 50 clubs. Austin Harris posted a time of 12:42, followed by Isaac Aadni (13:12) and Dempster Fawden (13:13).
