A prestigious venue will be given a new lease of life next year as two experienced promoters take over the musical reins.
Islington Assembly Hall, in Upper Street, has an illustrious history in which the likes of George Formby have graced its stage.
Now after a multi-million pound revamp promoters AGMP, who plug events for Camden’s Jazz Cafe, and Senbla, who work with Jazz FM’s live events, will take on the bookings from 2012.
Acts already confirmed include Gwenn McCrae, Alexander O’Neal, Gilles Peterson and Louie Vega.
The venue belongs to Islington Council though and is still used for community meetings as well as being available for private hire.
