A charity that helps babies born with HIV wants people to join their fund-raising bike ride through the some of the world’s highest mountains.

Body and Soul, based in Rosebery Avenue, supports children, teenagers and families living with or affected by the virus, which touches the lives of one in seven kids in London.

But helping those with HIV can be pricey, so the Finsbury charity has organised a bike ride through the foothills of the Himalayas, to raise much-needed cash.

Riders will cycle between 25 and 80 through the Nepalese terrain, taking in the vibrant city of Kathmandu and some unparalleled views on the way.

The charity need ten more people to join their crack team in November and are desperate for Islington residents to join in.

To get involved people need to raise £250 initially, then £5,000 by the time the trip happens. £3,500 of this will go straight towards the charity’s target of £100,000.

A spokesman for the charity said: “Money from this challenge is vital for Body and Soul to continue supporting the lives of thousands of children, teenagers and families living with HIV.”
