Holloway Fire Station opened its doors to the public at the weekend so people could come and meet firefighters and cops from their area.

The event showcased fire engines, an aerial ladder platform and classic police cars, while also offering safety advice and talks on what emergency service workers do. Highbury West Police tweeted: “Really enjoyable day at Holloway Fire Station today with a great turnout – variety of emergency service staff, vehicles and kit to see and the horses & dogs from [the Met Police] were very popular!

“Thanks to all those that attended.”

Ahead of the event on Saturday, The London Fire Brigade (LFB) also took to Twitter and said: “Everyone’s welcome to Holloway fire station today. You’ll get the opportunity to meet your local firefighters and explore our fire engines.”

A spokesperson for the LFB told the Gazette: “We want our fire station to be at the heart of our community, so come along, bring the whole family.”
