A leisure centre which celebrated its 40th birthday recently has been given the UK’s highest score ever for its youth facilities.
The Sobell Leisure Centre, in Hornsey Road, Holloway, which marked four decades in December, was ranked excellent for young people participation by Quest Benchmarking, a quality scheme for sports and leisure.
Singled out for particular praise was the centres’ Saturday Night Project, which provides youngsters with many different activities.
Damien Swan, manager of the Sobell, said: “I am delighted the centre has received national recognition.
“We aim to provide a highly innovative sports and leisure programme, which offers value for money and something for all levels and abilities.”
