A budding young artist came out top of the class with her entry into a prestigious London-wide competition.
Daniella Godfrey, of Grafton Primary School in Holloway, was chosen by artist David Shrigley from more than 4,000 submissions in the Fourth Plinth School Awards.
And last week she was presented with a package of art supplies at a City Hall ceremony.
Daniella’s drawing, “Support”, is now on display at the mayor’s headquarters, alongside winners from each London borough.
“I was really happy and surprised I that won something,” said Daniella, 10. “The day was a lot of fun.”
The competition invites schoolchildren aged from 5- to 15-years-old to create artwork inspired by commissions on Trafalgar Square’s Fourth Plinth.
“We are absolutely thrilled for Daniella,” said Nitsa Sergides, headteacher of Grafton Primary, whose pupils have now received the award three times.
“This is a well-deserved prize for a talented young lady who has shown great promise.”
