RESIDENTS were awoken by fire engines and evacuated from their homes early this morning when flames broke out in a block of flats.
Firefighters raced to Carleton Road, Holloway, at 6.10am after reports of a blaze, as the street was rocked by drama for the second time in three days.
Residents were already facing up to the tragic death of charity-worker Colin Hawkes, 64, who died after colliding with a car while cycling down Carleton Road on Wednesday morning.
Fire crews from Kentish Town and Holloway attended the scene, while police were called at 6.27am. No-one was hurt in the blaze, which police are treating as suspicious.
Investigations are underway.
