A charity that helps homeless people get back into work has today opened its latest branch in Archway.
Crisis in Junction Road will create jobs and volunteering opportunities for homeless people, aiming to build their confidence and help rebuild their lives.
It follows the launch of a shop in Stroud Green Road and Mare Street, Hackney last year, which helped the charity find work for 650 homeless people.
Customers can get their hands on second-hand clothes, books, homewares and furniture.
Business boss Sarah Farquhar said: “Lack of work is a major cause and consequence of homelessness. Gaining on-the-job experience at our shops will help clients who are finding their way into employment.
“Meanwhile, people can shop with us knowing that the money we raise supports our vital work. We want our shops to be focal points in local communities for our campaigns to tackle the causes of homelessness.”
