A crowdfunder is raising cash to conserve polystyrene artwork in Hornsey Road and beyond.

Over the past couple of years a community of “yellow people” have sprung up in unusual places, which has delighted children and adults alike.

But now people are chipping in money to protect them, with a view to financing more creations on lampposts and road signs across the borough.

Lucy Wright, who started the Just Giving fundraising page, said: “We’re raising £500 to help prevent the extinction of Hornsey Road yellow species.”

She added: “An undercover artist has been creating a new yellow species across Hornsey road in London, his work is amazing and has been noticed by many in the local community brightening up the area with these wonderful handmade people.”

The artist goes by the name of Kit but opts to keep a low profile and let his creations make the statements.

So far £180 has been raised. Visit bit.ly/hornseyroad.
