Hundreds of residents enjoyed live music from the Whittington Steel Band, a fancy dress competition and sack hopping games at an annual event last Saturday.
The summer fte in Arlington Square, Islington – organised by the Arlington Association – featured various stalls, a human fruit machine and an opportunity for visitors to explore a fire engine from Islington Fire Station in Upper Street, Islington. Jeremy Lee, of Arlington Square, who is pictured with daughter Sophie, two, jumping to the sound of the band, said: “We were really lucky with the weather.
“The event seems to have crystalised into an ongoing tradition because it was clearly enjoyed by several hundred people.
“It is becoming very popular which is good for everyone, especially families.”
