The hunt is on for the good samaritans who helped rescue a Morrocan woman kept as a slave. In December 2008, the victim managed to run away from the family who had held her captive in domestic servitude, subjecting her to beatings throughout.

She met up with a Somali lady called Fatima who, along with her partner Mohammed, cared for her in their Finsbury Park home.

The kind couple provided clothes and medication and let her stay for 10 days, before taking her to an immigration centre in Croydon, where the police became involved.

The Met’s Human Trafficking and Prostitution Unit are keen to trace Mohammed or Fatima and stressed any witnesses are not in trouble.
