Homelessness charity Emmaus is seeking local volunteers for a new charity shop in Chapel Market, Angel.

Liz Hunkin, a spokesperson for Emmaus, said: “We encourage people within Islington who are unemployed to come and volunteer with us.

“It’s a great way to get experience in retail and the voluntary sector.

She added: “We often look at areas where there is a mixture of affluence and low incomes. We want our shops to help people on low incomes to buy affordable clothing but also looking for people to give donations.”

As well as second-hand donations, Emmaus will also sell returns, end-of-line and non-moving items from several high-street retailers.

Profits will go towards supporting formerly homeless people in the UK by providing a home and work in one of the 25 Emmaus communities across the country.
