Counting of votes cast in Islington’s local election has begun at Sobell Leisure Centre in Holloway Road.
A total of 48 seats are up for grabs on the council, with results expected later today.
Labour is thought to be in a strong position. Councillor Paul Convery said he was confident the party had secured a number of seats.
The biggest upset is likely to be in Highbury East where there is speculation that the Lib Dems may lose seats to the Green Party or Labour.
