A special programme for cancer survivors has won Islington’s leisure provider an award.
Aquaterra’s tailor-made scheme for those recovering from the disease was commended at the Quality in Care’s Excellence in Oncology Awards held last month, recognising organisations across the UK.
Developed in partnership with Camden and Islington Public Health, the Cancer Survivorship Programme offers participants a 12-week personalised exercise programme with a range of activities including Nordic walking, pilates, gym, studio circuits and swimming.
Helen Dickinson, active health co-ordinator at Aquaterra, said: “Our client-centred approach has made us a leader in active health programming in London and we are working closely with our partners to develop our offering even further in the future.”
