A summer fair complete with live music, food and games raised more than 1,000 for Amnesty International.
The event at Islington Green, organised by Islington and Hackney Amnesty Group, treated visitors to live performances from bands such as Camden Cat and singer Laura Hunter.
Kathryn Grant, 34, who led 15 volunteers at the fundraiser, now in its second year, said: “It was great to see so many people turn up and I would like to say thank you for an amazing day.”
The aim was also to raise awareness of the causes Amnesty fights for, including Russian group Pussy Riot who were imprisoned for producing a politically motivated music video in a Moscow cathedral.
