Young professionals who met through Facebook enjoyed live music and performances as they raised cash for the east Africa drought appeal.
Africa Unite staged the event at the Unity Unitarian Church in Upper Street, Islington, on Saturday, September 10.
It raised nearly £3,000 for the Disasters Emergency Committee helping over 10 million people in Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia and Sudan without food, water and healthcare after one of the worst droughts in 60 years.
Africa Unite is a group of working young professionals from the continent now living in London who met through Facebook with the aim of generating cash for the appeal.
The event included a raffle, face-painting, activities for children, music and entertainment.
Rapper Nokukanya Hlazo, aka Lady Nox, who performed on the day, said: “It was great to see the community come together for a good cause.”
