There will be more than one Corbyn in the spotlight this Christmas.

Islington North MP and Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has a new rival: a character called Prince Corbyn in Park Theatre’s festive production of Rapunzel.

But Jeremy appeared happy to share the attention as he posed for a snap with Alex Hope - who will be playing his namesake at the Finsbury Park theatre - and puppets Fairy Jane and Fairy John.

Mr Corbyn, a long-time supporter of the theatre, dropped by on Friday having also attended the Finsbury Park Mosque vigil.

He met with the show’s cast and directors, who have created an original and “wacky” interpretation of the classic fairytale which will run until January 2. For more information, visit parktheatre.co.uk

It wasn’t the only constituency work by Mr Corbyn at the weekend. On Saturday, wearing a Santa hat, he also sang Christmas carols and collected donations for Syrian refugees in Nag’s Head shopping centre, Holloway Road.
