A production of a famous Oscar Wilde play created for a fringe theatre in �Islington has been transferred to the West End.
The Importance of �Being Earnest is the first West End transfer from the Old Red Lion Theatre, in St John’s Street.
The run comes to an end on January 28, then on January 31 will move to the Theatre Royal, in the Haymarket, until �February 11. The story features modern tweaks, such as iPhones and walkie-talkies.
Henry Filloux-Bennett, artistic director, said: ”I am thrilled and so proud for everyone who has had a part in it. This is a great opportunity to generate excitement about the Old Red Lion as a venue. I am delighted.”
