Islington’s inequality to be tackled tonight

ISLINGTON’s residents will have the opportunity to voice their opinions on inequality this evening, as councillors meet to address the needs of people in the borough.

The Islington Fairness Commission will meet this evening to discuss the best ways to tackle the borough’s most important issues. The commission will consider what is being done, and what more can be done, to give everyone a voice in community life.

Councillor Andy Hull, vice-chair of the Commission, said: “Despite its rich image, Islington is a very poor borough with many vulnerable residents.

“We want to make sure that ‘hidden voices’ are listened to - not just those who shout the loudest - so we can improve the lives of the everyone in Islington, including those that too often go unheard.”

The meeting will be held at Highbury Grove School, in Highbury New Park, Highbury, from 6.30-9pm. All Islington residents are invited to attend.
