Everyone hates going to the dentist. Most of us avoid it like the plague. So two City University students have come up with a way of checking on your dental hygiene from the comfort of your own home.

My plaque checker is an app created by Gina Dorodvand and Hawaa Budra to help people check on the health of their teeth in seconds. Using a small attachment which clips onto a smart phone you simply take three photos of your teeth and within seconds are given your plaque levels, gum health and problem areas.

“We just thought why is it that there are so many big, clunky machines to tell you this stuff, but nothing you can use at home?” said Gina
