As one of the busiest news patches in the country, the Gazette always has a long list of important issues to take up with Islington North MP Jeremy Corbyn.
And after Ali Rifat, a Corbyn client, closed his Nag’s Head Market underwear stall earlier this month, no question was more pressing than: “Where is he going to buy his socks?”
In typical good humour, the Labour leader told us at Friday’s Enterprising People launch event in Outpost, Holloway Road: “Ah, now that is a very important question.
“After many years with Ali, it’s true: I am looking for a new source of socks.
“But as I’ve said before, Holloway Road is one of the world’s great shopping hubs. So it shouldn’t be too hard.”
