A PERSONAL assistant from Finsbury Park is combining her passions for running and music to raise funds for a domestic violence charity Refuge.

Kerry Moyse, 25, of Stroud Green Road, is already in training for her first London Marathon on Saturday, April 13.

But not content with putting in an epic run to raise cash for the charity, she is also putting her love of music to good use by organising a music festival at Islington's Lark in the Park bar on Saturday, February 23.

She said: "I wanted to run for Refuge as they do such good work and help so many women get their lives together after domestic violence. Finishing the marathon will be fantastic, but knowing I've raised nearly £2,000 for such a worthwhile charity will be even better."

Kerry works for Virgin Media at its Leicester Square offices and is hoping billionaire boss Richard Branson will be among her sponsors.

"I recently met him," she said. "I saw him in our office, just sitting there and thought I would go in and say hi.

"He seemed really nice and kind. I told him I was doing this. He said, 'Great, we should see if we can get you some sponsorship from the company'."

Meanwhile, Kerry, who took up running when the record label she worked for made her redundant in 2006, is training in earnest for the gruelling marathon. She runs four times a week of between three and 10 miles.
