Passengers using Oyster cards at King’s Cross station were overcharged by more than 1million last year.
The figures, part of an Freedom of Information (FOI) request seen by the Gazette, place the station second in London for the number of people wrongly facing maximum fares.
A total of 1.12m was overcharged at King’s Cross in 2011, out of nearly 70m across the capital.
Caroline Pidgeon, Lib Dem London Assembly member who submitted the FOi request, said: “This level of overcharging is totally unacceptable.”
