Latest step in Archway’s regeneration to be decided tonight

The latest step in Archway’s rampant re-development will be decided tonight.

An application to re-clad Hill House, at the North of Archway Mall, off Junction Road, goes before an Islington Council Planning Committee.

The full plan includes a new entrance with retail space on the ground floor, new shop fronts in the mall, landscaping of Archway Town Centre and the erection of a ‘wind’ canopy and trees to tackle the mall’s notorious breezes.

If it gets the nod, the plan would join the redevelopment of Archway Tower, the transformation of nearby Hamlyn House into a hotel and the overhaul of the unpopular Archway Gyratory as regenerative schemes for the area.
