People with dreadlocks attended an event in Finsbury Park to promote a positive image of those who have the hairstyle.

Life coach Itricia Byers organised the event in Finsbury Park on Sunday through social networking sites, inviting dozens of residents with dreads to come and display them with pride.

She said: “The event went really well with around 40 people attending.

‘‘I think sometimes we fear the unknown with dreadlocks but now it is becoming more acceptable with people having this hair in the work place.

“What was lovely is that it really gave the young boys and girls some reassurance to see others like themselves with dreadlocks.”
