A by-election has been triggered after a councillor resigned to concentrate on trying to become an MP.
Holloway residents will go to the polls on Thursday, May 3 after Labour’s Lucy Rigby stepped down this week.
She has been selected to be Labour’s candidate for the Lincoln constituency at the next general election.
She said: “As I will commit myself 100 per cent to winning Lincoln back for Labour, I will not be able to give the residents of Holloway ward the representation they need. It has been an honour and a privilege to contribute towards Islington Council’s fairness agenda.”
The by-election candidates have yet to be chosen.
