A graffiti festival scheduled to take place this weekend has had to be cancelled in the wake of the London Riots.
Artists from across the UK and France were due to descend on Hornsey Street, off Holloway Road, Islington, at the International Meeting of Styles to transform a grey stretch of empty shop units with a splash of colour on Saturday.
Organisers were keen to press ahead with the free event despite recent events but said that police strongly advised them to cancel.
They said it was “hugely disappointing” but vowed to reschedule the event for later in the year.
