Made in Islington: Ectomorph, latex fetish fashion in Crouch Hill
PUBLISHED: 16:00 30 November 2016
Every week, we take to the streets to unearth something being manufactured or produced right here in Islington. This week, we see how fashion is merged with fetish at Ectomorph...
From women’s dresses to men’s shorts, Krystina Katsis has been making racy latex garments for the past 31 years.
Kyrstina is owner of Ectomorph, which she runs from her home in Blythwood Road, Crouch Hill.
Since 1985, she has been “merging the boundaries of fetish and high fashion” and her designs have featured in music videos ranging from The Corrs to Snoop Dogg.
She says: “I was studying cultural fashion at the Royal College. As part of that I was exploring sexuality and fashion, which led me to the area of fetish wear and also Skin Two, which was then a new fetish club in Soho.
“I did my first fashion show and never looked back since. My latex designs do not discriminate against size and are not glued together – I stitch them as one would with normal clothes.”
