A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop after an accident following a suspected hit and run at lunch time today.
The 28-year-old is currently being quizzed by police in connection with the collision at the junction of Mildmay Park and Ball’s Pond Road at 12.30pm.
The 60-year-old victim, who is from the Wembley area, suffered severe head injuries and is currently undergoing a potentially life-saving operation at Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel. His condition is described as critical.
Ball’s Pond Road was closed and buses were diverted.
