A man was recovering in hospital after his bike collided with a police car on a 999 call in a “horrific accident”.
The 40-year-old was rushed to hospital with head injuries after the collision in Liverpool Road, near the junction with Chapel Market, Islington, just after 7pm yesterday.
Two ambulances and the crew from London’s air ambulance treated him at the scene where he was conscious and speaking. Police describe his condition as stable.
One witness described it as a “horrific bike accident” and the cyclists bike “snapped in two”.
Islington Police confirmed the police car involved was responding to a call and attached to Islington borough.
