Man in court over Halloween killing

A MAN accused of a Halloween murder appeared at the Old Bailey today (Monday).
Andrew Whitefield, 52, of Horsell Road, Highbury, allegedly stabbed 27 year-old Maciej Novak to death in a flat at Forge Place, Kentish Town, on October 31.
Mr Novak, from Kensal Rise, was operated on in the street before being taken to hospital but died later that day.
A postmortem gave the cause of death as stab wounds to the chest.
Whitefield appeared via video link for a short bail hearing.
No bail application was made and he was remanded in custody.
He will return to court for a plea and case management hearing on January 10.
