Investigations were continuing this afternoon after a man in his 60s was found dead in an Islington flat.

Police were called to Canalside Square at 3.21pm on Monday after concerns were raised about his welfare.

The man was found unresponsive by officers, and pronounced dead. There was evidence of fire damage in the flat, the Met said.

His death is being treated as unexplained as police and London Fire Brigade investigations continue.
