A MAN was taken to hospital this morning after a car and motorbike collided in one of Islington’s busiest streets at the beginning of the rush hour.

The police and ambulance were called to Holloway Road, Holloway, at 7.15am to reports that a white Peugeot had been involved in an accident with a black Honda motorcycle.

The crash took place at the junction of Furlong Road, leading to the closure of Furlong Road and Crane Grove for 40 minutes.

The rider of the motorcycle, believed to be 40, was taken by ambulance to the Whittington hospital with non-life threatening injuries to his neck and back.

An ambulance and a paramedic in a car were sent to the scene.
