Officers were forced to Taser a man who hurled weights, cutlery and crockery from the smashed window of a Stroud Green flat.

Police had been called to Oxford Road at about 3pm on Wednesday, September 26, after the 47-year-old man began throwing items from the second floor window out into the road below.

But their attempts to convince the man to stop throwing the dangerous missiles failed, leaving them with no option but to force entry to the flat and Taser the man.

A man was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage.

Two parked cars were damaged during the man’s rampage, and the surrounding roads were closed for about three hours.

The man – who is bailed to return to a north London police station on October 30 - has since been sectioned, following a mental health assessment.
