A man was rushed to hospital with burns in the early hours after a blaze broke out on the Regent’s Canal narrow boat he was aboard.
Nearby witnesses who were evacuated from their homes on Dame Street, Islington, heard screams from the man, who managed to escape before Clerkenwell and Islington fire crews attended.
The burns victim, in his 30s, was rushed to Royal London Hospital after the blaze took hold at about 5.30am this morning.
The cause is still under investigation by officers.
