Members of the public are invited to attend a special event this Saturday at 6pm to mark one year since Henry Hicks died in a crash.

The event, which has been organised by the teenager’s family, will be held at a memorial wall in Wheelwright Street at the junction with Roman Way.

The evening will include lots of special features, including baubles that you can open and put a message inside to hang on Henry’s Christmas tree.

In a statement published on the website of the Henry Hicks Foundation, a charity set up by Henry’s sister Claudia to help bereaved families deal with funeral costs, the family said: “We understand and appreciate that you will want to stay there longer but on Saturday, as we have had to agree the event timings with the council, we ask that you respect the arrangement we have in place.

“We invite everyone to join us at the pub within walking distance of Henry’s wall upon completion of the event. This is Henry’s day and we want everyone to join us in remembering our precious boy – he may be gone but we will make sure he is never, ever, ever forgotten.”

Henry Hicks was killed on December 19 2014 when his moped collided with cars outside Pentonville Prison in Holloway while being pursued by police.
