Major developments to build more than 250 new homes were given the nod last night.
The two plans, in Islington and King’s Cross, were approved by an Islington Council planning committee.
In Caledonian Road, 156 flats, 60 per cent affordable, will be built next to a railway line, on the site of an old warehouse set to be demolished.
Meanwhile in Wharf Road, 98 new homes will be built, 79 of which will be affordable.
At the same meeting plans for an eight-storey, 212 room hotel in Clerkenwell Road, Clerkenwell, were deferred to a later date.
