A motorcyclist flew “through the air” following a collision, witnesses have said.

Police were called just before 12.30pm to the accident between a silver Jaguar and a blue Yamaha motorbike along Stoke Newington Road at Arcola Street in Dalston.

A 19-year-old man, thought to be the driver of the motorbike, was taken to the Royal London Hospital to be treated for injuries including to his shoulder. He is not thought to be seriously injured.

Witness Drew Storm, 59, a stallholder at Princess May School car boot sale, said: “The bike hit the side of the car, stuck in it like a dart. I was walking out of the gate when I heard a massive bang. By the time I looked up the guy was flying through the air, he must have gone about 40 feet. He landed on his back and didn’t move or roll over.

“Then a crowd was straight round him. It was quite shocking.”
