IT was encouraging to read in your edition of January 20 that the East London Railway line is to be extended to Highbury as soon as this coming February.
This will be a great boon to Islington and other travellers wishing to get to the City, East End and south London.
Why does it have to stop at Highbury? The lines are in place for it to continue on to Camden Town. Also Camden Road station has two or three derelict platforms that are not in use as well as a spare bridge next to the existing North London Line bridge.
How much more convenient it would be if we could have this other interchange. the Northern Line is a short walk from Camden Road Station. – Terry Mullins, Penn Road N7.
