Islington residents of all ages turned out at a community centre barbecue to mark the end of summer.
An eclectic mix of Samba and Iranian music kept everyone entertained at the event, which took place at Mildmay Community Centre in Woodville Road, Newington Green.
Susan McLaren, chair of the Mildmay Community Partnership, said: “We had a great turn out – we had groups of people who’ve been coming to the centre for years, and people who were completely new to it. But the samba band got all ages up and dancing.
“It’s a really beautiful centre, which has recently been renovated, but a lot of people didn’t even know it was there. The idea was to introduce new people to what we offered, and it was hugely successful.
“It’s the first time we’ve done anything like this, but we’re hoping it will become an annual thing.”
