A Newington Green pub has been revamped and reverted to the name it used when it first opened in the 1850s.

The Clarendon, in Mildmay Park, has had various names since being established but has been known for the last 30 years as the Nobody Inn.

New owners have reverted to the original name, and given the place new furniture, flooring and TVs.

They have also put in plenty of cask ales and re-fitted the kitchen to allow their expert Thai chef room to express herself.

Owner David Gay said: “When people come to the Clarendon they can expect a warm welcome, great food and, most importantly, great beer.”
